Mitsubishi i EV is the Greenest Car of 2012

Mitsubishi is the greenest automaker, thanks to the Japanese automaker's all new  Mitsubishi i EV.

The "i", which is currently available at Anaheim Mitsubishi in Anaheim, California is powered by a 49-kW motor and 16-kWh lithium-ion battery. Mitsubishi i reaches 112 combined MPGe and hits a top speed of 81 mph. Regenerative braking recharges the battery, allowing Mitsubishi's electric engine to hold a range of 62 miles per battery charge.

The United States' variant of the all electric vehicle has already entered production and is scheduled to hit select dealership showroom floors throughout the United States by the end of the month.
