The all-electric Mitsubishi i EV was recently introduced to the United States and has finally received another warm welcome from our neighbors up north, Canada. Anaheim Mitsubishi in Anaheim, California expects to see the one hundred percent electric car soon. And, we promise you that this small Japanese car has a lot of (green) might.
In fact, an i-MiEV (Mitsubishi Innovative Electric Vehicle) has already been purchased in Manitoba by resident Ross Redman. Redman was the first to purchase the all electric car in Canada. This purchase will add to "a number of devices that are eco-friendly, the latest addition being the electric car," Redman already owns, according to one local paper.1
Evidently, many residents of Manitoba are strong supporters of eco-friendly technology. The Japanese automaker expects the electric car to do well in the region as electric cars like the i do not produce carbon gasses.
Dealers in Canada area currently taking orders for the i-MiEV, which will officially hit the roads this month. The completely electric car is a four-passenger, five-door hatchback subcompact. Its quiet ride makes it to a top speed of 130 km/h (about 75-80 mph), while making it 155 Km (about 90 miles) on a single charge.
The Japanese automaker has received many awards for their EV, including winner of 'Fuel Economy Leaders: 2012 Model Year' by the EPA annual Economy Guide.
