Mitsubishi Gets 'Normal' In News Ads

As part of a new marketing campaign, the Mitsubishi i EV will turn a Midwestern location into something called EVTOWN.

Like those electric vehicles coming to Anaheim Mitsubishi in Anaheim, California, one city in America will be the setting for the introduction of a revolutionary vehicle.

Normal, Illinois is being converted into an EV community, thanks to a coalition of businesses, government representatives and other interested parties who firmly believe electric vehicles are the future of travel, and can bring a us together while saving the world.

"Normal EVTown is a community that is embracing new technology in an environmentally sound way," says Chris Koos, Mayor of Normal. "It is a way of imagining the future and Normal is that future."1

The 2012 Mitsubishi i was named the "Most Likable Car On The Planet" - this vehicle will turn Normal, Illinois into the EV capital of the US. Mitsubishi plans on bringing 1000 electric Mitsubishi i's (previously known as the MiEV - Mitsubishi innovative Electric Vehicle) to the region and installing 30 safe and convenient charging stations.

This kicks off a huge tour for the Japanese auto maker, which will see the "i" model pass through various US cities and small towns. Will your borough be next?
