Anaheim Mitsubishi serving greater Anaheim has been talking up Mitsubishi's first electric vehicle, the all new Mitsubishi i for quite awhile now. The United States' variant of the all electric vehicle has already entered production and is scheduled to hit select dealership showroom floors throughout the United States by the end of the month.
At this time the American variant is being produced next to the Japanese variation at the company's Mizushima plant. Even though the two variants are being produced side-by-side, there are a handful of noteworthy differences. To start, the United States variant is larger than its Japanese equivalent. Specifically, the U.S. version is 11 inches longer and 4.3 inches wider than the Japanese variant, which launched in Japan in 2009. The U.S. version features several additional required safety features like advanced airbag and tire pressure monitoring systems. The Japanese automaker has demonstrated its dedication to bring American car buyers a reliable electric vehicle. But, regardless of making several significant changes for the U.S. market's Mitsubishi i, the automaker will only be launching the electric vehicle in a limited release.
Numerous western states will see the Mitsubishi i during its limited release, including California, Hawaii, Oregon, and Washington before spreading through to the rest of the U.S. market. This will allow the Japanese automaker to keep a close eye on the electric vehicle's sales performance and alter further production accordingly.
Anaheim Mitsubishi located at 1300 South Auto Center Drive Anaheim, California 92806, is devoted to keeping Mitsubishi enthusiasts informed regarding any production and availability news concerning the 2012 Mitsubishi i, as it makes its way through the United States. So make sure to stay tuned!
